Am I being reallllly naive?!

Question

I am due my 2nd baby in 3 weeks and I have a 25 month old. I feel like the baby will just “slot in” because our 1st is super chilled, independent and goes to nursery a few days a week. My partner is super hands on too. I just feel as though going from 1-2 will be easy for us, but am I being naive? Any tips?

Honestly, I think you're relaxed approach to the situation maybe help you in theblong wrong. Just take it a day at a time. You got this.

I only have the one. BUT I know multiple people including my mother who said the 2 child was a handful and completely different from their calm first baby. So don’t get too excited yet lmao. I hope your second is just as good as your first though

I personally didn’t find going 1-2 that difficult at first but as they got older, it got harder. My 2nd was super chill which was helpful.

We have found the transition so far from 1 to 2 decently easy. Our son is 3 and our new little one will be a month old on the 28th.
For us it hasn’t been to Hard. Our son is obsessed with his sister and likes to help a lot - passing me diapers, picking her clothes etc. he’s also old enough to get himself a snack or entertain himself a bit if I’m tied up with her. Also helps my spouse is really hands on and we have a good support system with in-laws etc. 
Also as another said - don’t listen to the “second baby will be harder” business! We constantly got the “that’s how they get you, easy baby first - the second will he difficult” Our daughter is so far wayyyy more mellow than our son was - and he was decently easy 😂😂

For me i think im wayyyy more prepared this time around!! I felt like the first time i had hoped i knew what i was doing but you can just never know what a newborn is like lol. But now i feel like i know what im going into and i wont be as surprised which makes me feel like the switch will be alittle easier.

I thought the transition from 1-2 was actually really easy! Now the transition to 3 I’m a bit worried about 🙃😂

It can definitely be an easy transition. For us 0-1 was way harder than either 1-2 or 2-3. Also baby can sense your stress level, so if you are relaxed your baby can feed off of that. It doesn’t always work, but I noticed with all of my kids if I was stressed they were more fussy snd clingy.

For us it was easy for the first 3-4m. My first baby was not a good sleeper, but never had the 4m sleep regression, he started sleeping better then. My second was born and was immediately a great sleeper. Like 5-6 hours a night by 2m. Then she got the 4m sleep regression and things got a lot harder
