I work full time currently have debt and a few direct debits on me. Edd is march 23 . Husband tells me I need to put in more share until then and save up big chunk for house and baby’s future. I want to honestly just save as much as I could since My maternity pay will be half and I have my own direct debits to pay plus save for any emergency that may come up ( also supporting my old mom) I feel resentful towards husband for asking me to save up. Am I over reacting or is this normal amongst couple? We are first time parents. Live in rented house and currently share rent and bills 50:50.

Ps I also plan to leave my job after mat leave to support kid full time hence need to save some for my direct debits. I just feel very insecure in terms of finances. He said you take care of your DD and l pay rent and bills when i go on mat leave.
