Do you wash meat before cooking?

I always wash the meat, but today I was in such a rush I completely forgot. I looked it up and it says that you shouldnt wash meat before cooking? Opinions on this? Is it safe for me to eat the food i made?

No I don’t wash my meat. I buy my meat fresh off my friend’s farm and I don’t wash it. There isn’t a need to wash it and I’d rather not contaminate my sink and other areas. We get our chicken, pork, and beef fresh off their farm.

I let it soak in vinegar, lemon, or salt water..... remove fat, slime, and then rinse.
